Description: Spike's out here making friends and influencing people.

[ Back in level 95, some guy with a British accent is lying in a nice reclinable couch, speaking nonstop. ]

— with a chaos demon. You got any idea of what those look like? Ugly, big antlers but nothing to do with your little bambi creatures down the dungeon, chaos demons are slimy— literally, slime dripping down; there's puddles, it's quite gross, even back then, you know?

And I loved Dru as much as I could love anyone back then. So I see this and I get pissed— drunk, and I go back to Sunnydale, figure, hey, if Dru thinks I'm so hung up on the slayer, I'll go back and kill her or something. But I didn't, I had a fun fight, finally felt like my head was on straight and decided I'd go and find Dru and torture her and everything would be right as rain again— [ He pauses, looks at Flint, holds a hand up. ] I don't do that anymore. The torture thing— I mean, not like that, I'll still torture bad people you know? If I have to. But I don't enjoy it.

Anyway, where was I?

[ Spike can also be found at differents time on different levels. He wears all black and has platinum blond hair and a British accent, so he's hard to miss. ]

[ Flint tilts their head to the side. ]

I believe you were relating your attempt to seduce your former lover with violence.

Right, yes. We do that, it's a demon thing. Or maybe it's a Dru thing, she was never quite right in the head, my Dru. So, I found her, we got back together, and then she left me again. And then I heard about this ring, supposed to make a vampire invincible, and of course the bloody thing was back in bloody Sunnydale, so there I go again. And that's when the government kidnapped me and put a chip in my brain.

[ At some point a cloud of butterflies starts following him around. ]

A chip?

A little machine that zapped me if I hurt people. Hell of a headache, that trinket.

[ He ignores it for a bit but when it doesn't leave he just addresses it directly. ]

What are you?

[ They all land on him, which is apparently an answer. ]

I'm about to get drugged, aren't I?

[ ate a flower person and spent the next five hours watching your hand move ]

Ah. I have heard of such things.

I take it you did not become invincible, then.

I did, briefly, but I was thwarted. I spent about a year trying evil without violence, and then I fell for the thwarter.

[ hands move interestingly, especially when you're high. ]

Fellas, we all know I didn't spontaneously get the gift of controlling butterflies, so why don't you just tell me what the deal is so we can all move past my disappointment?

... would that be the Slayer you had mentioned?

[ Del is not with it enough right now to understand his request, let alone acknowledge or respond to it. The butterflies float up and dance around him, and then most of them resettle again, the rest trailing after him in a scattered and colourful swarm. ]

Buffy, yeah. See the thing about vampires is, the human dies, the human soul goes wherever, and a demon takes residence. So we have no soul, no moral compass, but I had this chip and I couldn't hurt humans, but I still wanted to fight, you know? So I did just for the good guys instead.

I told her, tried to make her understand I meant it, but she didn't believe me— she was probably right to. But I tried, you know? For her. I tried to be a man, tried to do good, help. And she went and died to save her little sister and the world, and I figured that was it; I'd protect the sister until she died or I did, and then I'd move on. But her friends brought her back to life.

Spike, Master of Butterflies. Angel would have a blast with this.

[ She's just going to hang out like this for awhile, while he makes his way upward. Eventually she'll pull herself together, but it's going to be while he's not looking. ]

There's these onion flower things, haven't seen them since I died last.

Could you describe them for me?

[ Some levels are very distracting, though as he goes he does happily address the butterflies every so often. ]

Showed up here at the treasure, I was so sure I was supposed to slay the dragon. Big bloody twist, it speaking.

[ Even if the butterflies don't seem to understand him, they do react when he speaks, with little dances. ]

One big onion cut to look like a flower, battered and deep fried. It's served with dip.
